Since I Don’t Have Any Recent News…
I decided to do some research and find out what was happening in the Aviation world and report it on my blog. So for this week, I discovered that:
1) The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is coming to Boston, Massachussetts this weekend! (March 4). Apparently,
the Dreamliner has been on tour since December 5, 2011 when it started in Beijing, China. Over the past few months, it’s traveled to several provinces in China, Africa, the Middle East, Ireland, and has just gotten back from Singapore. March begins the 4th segment of the tour, where the Dreamliner will travel to the US, Canada and Mexico. It will then go to Chilie for the 5th segment. (I absolutely love the dreamliner)

2) I learned that the New England Air Museum is having a Speaker about Connecticut during the Cold War on March 11! You will find out why I’m so excited about this if you read my previous blog post. I’m so fasciniated by that whole era (especially the missles). Best of all, this speaker program, given by Mr. Ramsey – is included with admission! **Fireworks stream from overhead** Click HERE for more information about the event.
3) Recently, over the past month or so; AirVenture has confirmed several performers for this summer! Some are Se
an D. Tucker, Mike Goulian, Kyle Franklin, Matt Younkin, Chuck Aaron, the Aeroshell Team, and more! This is also the 75th Anniversary of the Piper Cub and they are calling all Piper Cubs for a field of Yellow! I was so excited to hear that Women Soar Applications are open – and I want to go SO bad! Women Soar is even going to the Night Airshow this year (which they didn’t have when I went). I’m about to start walking to Oshkosh now! Click HERE to find out more news about AirVenture.
4) And lastly, but certainly NOT least March 1st begins the start of Women’s History Month! (Yay girls!) And for the Intrepid Museum, this marks their second annual salute to Women! They have a whole exhibit of Women in Aviation from World War II, hands on activities, guided tours and more! HOW COOL IS THAT?! I wonder if I can magically transport myself to Manhattan this month… I flew over the Intrepid does that count for anything?
Click HERE for the link to the exhibit.
So for everyone who reads this blog, (if anyone); I hope you enjoyed my first aviation news broadcast.
